Hryhoriy Kozlovskyy’s love for football inspired him to embark on another exciting project—the establishment of a Football Academy based at FC “Ruh” in Vynnyky. He decided to invest his efforts and resources into the future of football, not only for his club but for the entire country.
Anyone visiting Vynnyky could witness the Football Academy, which, since September 1, 2021, has served as a home for its first training and educational groups.
However, the war disrupted Kozlovskyy’s vision for the Academy. On February 24, 2022, the first day of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, the Academy was sheltering 350 young footballers from various parts of the country, including the east and south. As shelling began nearby, Kozlovskyy decided to keep these young players in Vynnyky, taking full responsibility for their safety and providing them with housing and education.
Hryhoriy Kozlovskyy described these moments as terrifying. In the spring of 2022, during one of the Russian missile strikes, rockets landed near the stadium. He emphasized that, in the event of further Russian advances into western Ukraine, his footballers would be ready to take up arms if necessary.
